Executive Office for Immigration Review Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist - ISSO in Alexandria, Virginia

Summary This position is located in the Office of Information Technology (OIT), Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), U.S. Department of Justice. Incumbent serves as Information Technology (IT) Specialist with the primary responsibility of assisting the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). This is a Competitive Service position; additional positions may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of certificate issuance. Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to the following: Provides advice and instruction to employees and supervisors on security issues and establishes and maintains liaison with internal and external groups working on legal, internal audit, physical security, and other information security matters, as assigned. Develops policies, plans, and procedures to ensure Continuous Monitoring efforts and the continued reliability, security and accessibility of systems, network, and data infrastructure. Provides support and oversight for the development and maintenance of documentation necessary to certify systems for security authorization and accreditation. Promotes the awareness of cybersecurity issues ensuring sound security principles and assures appropriate project and resource integration are documented and justified. Oversees IT Infrastructure requirements in support of the Federal Information Systems Modernization Act (FISMA). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for the Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist - ISSO position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties: Providing support and oversight for the development and maintenance of documentation necessary to certify systems for security authorization and accreditation; Developing policies, plans, and procedures to continuously monitor, identify, and track any changes to a system; - Promoting the awareness of cybersecurity issues ensuring sound security principles and assuring appropriate project and resource integration are documented and justified; and Providing advice and instruction to employees and supervisors on security issues and establishing and maintaining liaison with internal and external groups on information security matters.
