What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Facilities Engineering Project Manager to fill an Alternate Site Security Manager (ASSM) role within the Physical Security Services Department (5118) of the High Security Operations (HSO) organization.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Plan and/or execute complex projects that require high-rigor management.

  • Lead cross functional teams to ensure construction security compliance for current and future accredited Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs) in accordance with IC Tech Spec ICD 705 & other governing design, process & policy criteria.

  • Serve as the primary technical interface to customers, oversight and sponsors

  • Provide design requirements, design review, construction oversight, and day-to-day guidance to contractors (through the FMOC Project Managers and Construction Managers), and for HSO customer(s) of SCIF and/or SAPF modification and construction projects at the New Mexico, California, and Minnesota site locations.

  • Develop and articulate a strategic plan and successfully implement it to deliver desired results

    The selected candidate will utilize their expertise and knowledge of architectural/engineering and other relevant technical expertise to manage processes. They will technically contribute to requirements analysis to ensure requirements are identified, negotiated and verified with oversight. They will utilize knowledge in design, construction, varied engineering disciplines, current building and fire code, and comprehensive security knowledge, and DOE Office of intelligence and counterintelligence interface to implement complex processes and make high-risk decisions to enhance the HSO physical security posture. Some travel is required.

    Due to the nature of the role, this candidate must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$90,900 - $176,900

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as STEM, Architectural, Construction Management, plus five (5) years of experience, OR equivalent (AS + 9 or no degree +13)

  • Involvement with construction project management, risk management, budget planning, and scheduling

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing, interpreting, and implementing building architectural plan requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance with SCI access

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Knowledge of ICD 705 and other SCIF and/or SAPF physical security requirements

  • Knowledge of other DOE facilities, and other government agency security missions, programs, and requirements

  • Experience conducting research, investigating alternatives, and recommending solutions on problems affecting facilities security compliance

  • Experience conceptualizing and communicating major elements of security requirements to both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Current PMP and PE Certification

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting physical security requirements

  • Knowledge of SNL Facilities operations

  • Familiar with NFPA, UL2050 and ADA requirements

  • Ability to resolve conflicts at all levels and effectively communicate across science and engineering disciplines

  • Familiarity with SCIF accreditation activities

  • Excellent teaming and customer service skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organization and time management skills with ability to adapt to multiple tasks and changing priorities in a high pressure environment

About Our Team:

The High Security Operations (HSO) Group performs high-impact, national security work for a broad segment of the Intelligence Community. The HSO Physical Security Department protects the information of our customers and creates a secure environment that allows Sandia to deliver products and services that protect our nation's security. The functions of this department include classified destruction, security operations center, SCIF and SAPF requirements management, HSO technical security team.
