THE OPPORTUNITY

This position works out remotely from the Alberta and British Columbia in the Vascular division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.

As a technical member of the field team within Western Canada, this position is responsible for providing technical clinical expertise to current or potential customers, achieve sales/demand goals according to territory quota established, and generate new leads for the Coronary franchise business. It is expected to cover all Abbott Vascular's coronary products, allocating priority to the key products formally defined by the respective Manager. This position is key to support physicians, fellows, nurses and techs to use these technologies live during procedures, as well as, while reviewing recorded procedure cases. Confidence and clinical acumen is a must.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provide technical clinical and programming assistance, primarily in support of 1-2 Territory Managers;

• Integrate into all accounts; builds trust and relationships; establishes strong rapport with customers;

• With gained product knowledge, become proficient in complex programming and case support;

• Interact with customers and assigned institutions, physicians and technicians, purchasing agents and administration staff;

• Provide sales support, clinical in-services, training, and guidance to current or potential customers;

• Attain to the sales/demand territory quota established, working together to achieve them with other sales team members (KAMs, RSM, NSM, Territory Managers) on the same territory;

• Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned;

• Comply with local regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments;

• Stay apprised of the latest clinical trials and technology developments for Coronary products, particularly on what is related to Physiology and OCT. Clinical Specialist will develop a personal education curriculum. + 5% of time should be devoted to studying the latest clinical updates on Physiology; OCT; Complex PCI; CTOs;

• Integrate with the nurses/ techs at the hospital, and become a clinical resource for accounts using Physiology/OCT. Scrub-in, when applicable, for live cases to support effective use of Physiology/ OCT technologies, understanding HCP habits;

• Operate the CRM (One Force customer relationship management) system and ensure information is available with the company on a timely and accurate manner;

• Accountable for knowledge of company travel and expense guidelines;

• Follow travel and expense guidelines and submits timely expense reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in science or engineering);

• 3-5 years of relevant experience;

• Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel up to 50% (varies) of the time in the assigned territory;

• Excellent presentation, leadership and coaching skills and ability to work in a complex environment;

• Experience running and executing programs for Health Care Practitioners and other stakeholders;

• Take action to achieve quantitative and qualitative goals (proactive/shows initiative);

• Excellent written and verbal skills;

• The ability to handle a diverse and complex workload, largely in a clinical environment;

• Works equally effective in a team environment and independently;

• Experience working with Microsoft Office.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a hospital, or a similar role (preferably cardiac catheterization clinical or other related healthcare company technical setting);

• Experience in a hospital setting with Cardiovascular procedures would be an asset;

• Cardiac Cath Lab or other hospital technical experience would be an asset;

• Knowledge of Physiology and OCT technologies would be an asset;

• Experience on influencing and/or changing stakeholders habit would be an asset.
