The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As a key member of our GSM team, the Group Manager, Business Operations will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy behind centralized Internal Communications, Event Planning, and Budget/Procurement responsibilities. This role is essential in fostering a cohesive and vibrant organizational culture, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving team centricity. This role is ideal for a dynamic and strategic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving organizational success through effective communication, meticulous planning, and fostering a strong, cohesive culture.

What You’ll Work On

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure clear, consistent, and timely dissemination of information across the organization.

  • Collaborate with leadership to craft messages that align with the company's vision, mission, and values.

  • Manage internal communication channels, including newsletters, organizational updates, and team meetings.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute internal events, including team-building activities, workshops, and company-wide meetings.

  • Ensure events are aligned with organizational goals and contribute to a positive and inclusive company culture.

  • Oversee and help manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and scheduling.

  • Partner with Finance in driving the quarterly financial planning process (LBE) and ensure that budget allocation, resource planning and spending are within financial commitments.

  • Oversee the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with financial goals and constraints.

  • Manage procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and purchase orders.

  • Monitor and report on budget expenditures, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • Act as a cultural ambassador, promoting and nurturing a positive work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.

  • Implement initiatives that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on matters related to organizational culture and employee experience.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree required; MBA preferred

Six years marketing experience with a minimum of four years in a commercial role including, product marketing

Preferred Qualifications

Self starter that is assertive, possesses a high degree of self confidence and intellectual curiosity, and demonstrates good executive presence.

Proven ability to identify/define business questions and issues and develop strategic, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment.

Comfortable working across functional areas (ex. R&D, Regulatory, Operations, etc.) and at varying levels of the organization.

Previous experience with product development (preferably in a technology driven business), marketing strategy, market research, business development and international business.

The base pay for this position is $146,700.00 – $293,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
