Responsibilities
SCA Health is seeking an Equipment Planner to support the organization’s de novo, relocation, renovation project efforts. The Equipment Planner will work closely with new partnerships, SCA Health’s operational leadership, clinical and support services teams, as well as a variety of external vendors. This role is expected to work independently leading complex projects while ensuring process standardization and scalability.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for the simultaneous management of multiple projects with varying size and complexity, navigating external vendors with our internal integration and supply chain process. Project types include construction and development of a new ASC or Surgical Hospital (de novo), mergers of one or more existing surgery facilities and other types of investments, existing ASC’s adding service lines, and support of facility closures related to inventory management. The role will include management of the entire project life cycle, from the planning stages to the complete execution of the workplan.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Equipment Planner will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of multiple projects simultaneously, including:
Design development as related to fixed and MEP related equipment
Supporting design documents
Consistently updated equipment lists and budgets
Equipment tracking and responsibility matrix
On site visits for design requirement verifications and install confirmation
Shop drawing coordination
PO submission and tracking in alignment with SCAH policy and procedures
Support of RFI’s during construction as needed
Attendance at construction meetings (remote and onsite as needed)
Acquisition of all needed and directed equipment to support the nature of the project
Coordination and verification of the receipt of equipment
Warehouse management as needed
Equipment move-in and installation oversight
Ad hoc services as needed
Partnering with support service departments to ensure effective communication, facility support, and efficient use of SCA Health resources
Escalating issues to senior management when appropriate
Critically thinking through integration requirements and operational risks
Providing status reports to management using appropriate enterprise tools
Providing supervision and oversight to external consultants
Qualifications
Required Skills
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, including a proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment
Experience with architects, contractors and physicians in the development and equipment planning support of ASCs is preferred
Skillset to work with physicians and vendors in the initial equipping of new surgical facilities
Strong leadership skills including conflict resolution
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with clients, stakeholders, and senior leadership, both internal and external to the organization
Strong interpersonal, writing and oral communication skills
Ability to drive and motivate large teams within an organization though strategic leadership and guidance
Extensive experience required in communicating and collaborating across different audiences and stakeholders
Candidates must have good general business sense and be able to analyze complex business models and provide solutions
Experienced project management skills, abilities, and experiences
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Project Management, Nursing, or HealthCare Administration preferred
2 years of practical project management experience required, (3+ preferred)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
Three or more years of prior supervisory work experience in healthcare and project management
Experience on multiple projects creating new surgery centers or surgical hospitals (de novo projects)
Travel Required
