WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE DETENTION OFFICER in AKRON, Colorado
POSITION: Detention Officer, Transport Officer, Control Operator
REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be 21 years old and be able to complete and pass a psychological test a well as a physical. Applicants must be able to complete required training provided by the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Must be self-motivated and have a willingness to learn and understand proper Security Procedures that have been established and possess a current valid Colorado Driver's License.
PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience is preferred but not necessary. Detention Academy and on the job training will be provided.
WAGE: Starting salary is $2750/month (higher if you have previous experience), with raises possible after probation period.

DAYS/HOURS: Must be able to work night and holidays/rotating shifts, Sunday through Saturday. Currently officers work 12 hours shifts and have at least two weekends off a month. (Subject to change as employer sees fit to ensure a secure facility).
DUTIES: Include booking arrests, doing personal searches and keeping inmate records. Will monitor inmates' visits, calls, mail and while cooking, washing clothes and bedding, and will assure mental and physical welfare of inmates.
