Job Title: Journeyman Millwright Mechanic

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Journeyman Millwright Mechanic to perform startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, and warranty work primarily in remote locations around Airdrie. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting engine compressor problems, making recommendations, verifying settings and adjustments, and prioritizing unit repairs. You will provide a high level of customer service, maintain documentation of mechanical services, and may direct apprentice mechanics. Expect to be available for night calls 25% of the time.

Hard Skills

  • Journeyman Millwright OR Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket

  • 5+ years’ experience in Waukesha, Caterpillar, and natural gas driven compression

  • Ability to understand plans and blueprints

  • Comprehend and troubleshoot mechanical systems

  • Knowledge of gas compression packages

  • Understanding of mounting and alignment, commissioning, package operations, mechanical components, instrumentation, and electronics

Soft Skills

  • Ability to judge priorities on unit repairs

  • High level of customer service

  • Good coordination and manual dexterity

Wage

$45.20 - $50.20 HR paid depending on experience level

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Airdrie, Alberta.

Work Environment

This position reports to the PES Service Coordinator & PES Service Manager, Central & International. The role involves the potential to supervise an apprentice in the future. Work includes handling heavy equipment and may require working at heights or outdoors. Standard Monday-Friday days with potential overtime on weekends, paid at 1.5x. A service truck is provided. Travel primarily within Central Alberta.
