Summary About the Position:This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable. This position is with 7th Signal Command, 21st Signal Brigade, 114th Signal Battalion, located at Adams County, Pennsylvania Responsibilities Serve as the Command focal point for the receipt and review of incoming tasks, projects, correspondence and other communications and materials. Determine nature of inquiries and utilizes thorough knowledge of organization mission to handle or refer the inquiry to the appropriate personnel/office. Maintain suspense on non-routine correspondence and reports and alerts appropriate staff element of due date for response. Prepare various correspondence in a variety of formats. Establish and maintains control of records and files on all Command Group correspondence, reports, and action documents under ARIMS. Serve as the Command Group Security Coordinator and Key Control Custodian. Obtain information, document files and other material for Command Group use in phone calls, meetings, speeches. Conduct research, assembles, and edits/summarizes a wide variety of subject material pertinent to the organization. Coordinate and oversees a variety of social functions, such as receptions, dinners, and luncheons. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by managing incoming calls and inquiries and relaying information to the command and callers; evaluating the administrative procedures for staff regarding correspondence control, flow and conformance; developing plans supporting participation and involvement in conferences, formal and informal appearances, and presentations and assisting in formalizing plans and confirming all arrangements are made. Education Additional Information If you are a current federal career/career-conditional employee, you will be placed on an excepted appointment. Due to the essential nature of this position, the incumbent cannot be a Ready Reservist, National Guardsman, or Military Retiree with recall obligations. This position MAY be eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
