Describe the role
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Facilitates problem solving activities for both product and manufacturing processes.
Performs process validations, in-process inspections, and monitoring, analyzing the quality of manufacturing processes and products.
Provides support to design, manufacturing, and quality engineering functions for data collection, analysis, product review, and process capabilities.
Effectively communicates with appropriate areas as needed. (supply, manufacturing, engineering, quality, customer service, production planning, logistics, etc.)
Performs product reviews and analysis to determine cause and/or disposition.
Performs routine inspections of internal components for conformity of specifications.
Manage calibrations and inventory on inspection measuring devices.
Provide audit support in designated areas.
Participate in lean activities as required.
Observe all applicable safety rules and report any unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
YOU HAVE:
Academic background: High school diploma or G.E.D.Associate’s degree preferred.
Previous experience in or with:
1 year experience in the quality process preferred.
Experience and understanding of charting and process control methods preferred.
Experience with Quality Management Systems, and with precision measuring devices preferred.
Skills:
Skills in identifying root causes of routine problems/issues and the ability to develop recommendations for resolution.
Skills in attention to detail and accuracy.
Skill in using personal computers, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.).
Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands:
Ability to effectively organize, plan workload and work in a self-directed manner.
Ability to utilize good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people across multiple functional areas within the company.
Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships across functional areas.
Ability to interpret and apply Quality System / ISO procedures and documentation.
Ability to apply appropriate math and geometry.
Must be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
Knowledge of nVent product design and manufacturing processes preferred.
